FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Camp Max?

Camp Max is a weekend family camp for parents & kids. Best friends weekend is an opportunity for everyone to invite friends and family to join in the fun!

Why did you create Camp Max?

I wanted to create a special place where parents and kids can experience the magic of sleep-a-way camp together.  Where your only job is to have fun!  A cool spot where you can spend quality time with your child, but also spend many hours apart…so adults can play with adults while kids play with other kids. A place where everyone can make new friends, go on exciting adventures and create lasting memories.  A haven for parents to get away from the daily grind, recharge, and have crazy fun like they did when they were kids.  An opportunity to build a network of parents who can socialize and support each other both at camp and in their daily lives.

Where is camp located?

Camp Max will take place on the grounds of Camp Schodack, in Nassau, NY, about a 2.5 hour drive from the New York Metropolitan area. For the camp address and driving directions, please check the location & directions section on this website.

What can I expect from the weekend?

You are going back to sleep-a-way camp for the weekend!  Or for some, you’ll be going to camp for the first time, which is equally exciting!  Either way, you can expect to have a ton of fun!  All parents and children will be treated as campers. Your kids will make some great new friends as they run around and explore camp together. You will meet and socialize with other parents, while relaxing and having all a ball. You will also spend some quality time with your children, as you play games, try new activities and have a pajama party together.

What does all-inclusive mean?

It means that everything is included so you won’t spend any money when you are at camp.  The cost includes lodging, six meals each, snacks, drinks, all activities and a ton of fun! For a full list of what is included you can click here.

What kind of activities will there be?

For a full list of our activities, please visit the Activities page, by clicking on the word “Activities” in the menu bar above.

What will my itinerary be at camp?

We will design your schedule based on the preferences you indicate in your application and in the subsequent conversations that we have. There will be six activity periods during the day and two in the evening.  During the day, kids and parents will be on separate schedules, except when they choose to do an activity together.  At night, everyone will come together for group events.
