What is Camp Max?

Camp Max is a weekend family camp for all parents & kids.

Why did you create Camp Max?

I wanted to create a special place where parents and kids can experience the magic of sleep-a-way camp together.  Where your only job is to have fun!  A cool spot where you can spend quality time with your child.  A place where both kids and adults can make new friends, go on exciting adventures and create lasting memories.  A haven for parents to get away from the daily grind, recharge, and have crazy fun like they did when they were a kid.  An opportunity to build a network of parents who can socialize and support each other both at camp and in their daily lives.

Where is camp located?

Camp Max will take place on the grounds of Lake Owego Camp in Greeley, PA, less than 2 hours by car from NYC. (for driving directions, please check the location & directions section on this website)

What can I expect from the weekend?

You are going back to sleep-a-way camp for the weekend!  Or for some, you’ll be going to camp for the first time, which is equally exciting!  Either way, you can expect to have a ton of fun!  All parents and children will be treated as campers.  You will spend quality time with your child, while playing games and trying new activities together (and apart).  Your kids will make some great new friends as they run around and explore camp together.  You will meet and socialize with other parents, which will create new and lasting friendships.

What does all-inclusive mean?

It means that everything is included so you won’t spend any money when you are at camp.  The cost includes lodging, six meals each, snacks, drinks, all activities, a camp t-shirt and a ton of fun!

What kind of activities will there be?

This is just a sampling of the some of the activities offered at Camp Max.  (Please visit the Activities section on this website for a sample schedule and a more detailed list).  Campfires, pool parties, kayaking, Sports, Arts & Crafts, Yoga, zip lining, swimming, Archery, tug-of-war, music, fishing, friendship bracelets, scavenger hunts, climbing walls, Fitness, family workshops, hi ropes course and so much more!

What will my itinerary be at camp?

You will design your own schedule when you arrive at camp.  There will be six activity periods during the day and two in the evening.  During the day, kids and parents will be separate schedules, except when they choose to do an activity together.  At night, everyone will come together for group events.

Does my family have to sleep in the same room as another family?

As much as we would love every family to bunk with another family (in the true spirit of camp), we recognize that some people would like more privacy.  You can request a private room within one of our cabins or buildings, that will house other families, at no additional cost.  Please inquire when registering.
